At Charitors.com™, we partner with brokers and work directly with charities in order to make your experience as easy as possible. Just like any other business, we do have expenses. However, unlike other businesses, we refuse to pass these expenses on to you. Therefore, in order to pay our costs we deduct a $195 transaction fee from the broker’s 20% donation amount. This way, you still pay nothing extra, the broker does not have to give up anything more than 20%, and your favorite charity is still getting a very large donation made in your name. For example, say you buy a $300,000 house and your broker receives 3% of the total as a commission. That’s $9,000 in total commission, 1,800 of which is the 20%given by the broker. Less the $195 transaction fee, your charity receives $1,605, without an extra dime in cost to you.
Once you have decided that you are ready to buy or sell your house, here’s how the Charitors.com™ process will work.
The process is simple:
1. enter your information:

and enter all necessary information. At Charitors.com™ we use this information
to help us partner you with the right agent; we do not sell your information
to third parties.
2. Select your charity:
Either select from a list of our partner charities, or write in your own selection.
3. Wait to be contacted:
Once you have entered your contact information
and selected your charity, you will then be partnered with a Charitor™ in your
area. They will contact you within two business days.
4. Meet with your Charitor™:
You and your Charitor™ will meet to discuss your
real estate needs as you would with a regular agent. At this meeting, if you
decide you would like to work together, both of you will sign an agreement guaranteeing
that if a sale or purchase is made, 20% of the Charitor’s™ commission will be
donated to the charity you have chosen.
5. A donation is made:
If a sale or purchase is completed, Charitors.com™ will
help distribute the donation to your favorite charity in the amount specified
by 20% of your Charitor’s™ commission, less the Charitors.com™ transaction fee.
The donation will then be received by your charity, and you will be sent a receipt
for your donation. In certain situations, this donation may constitute a tax
deduction for you, so please ask us to find out if you are eligible.
